JomezPro in 2019: The Future Looks Bright

The disc golf off-season has been the most eventful one in recent memory. With major player moves, the sport of disc golf has realigned itself in preparation for the 2019 season. Unfortunately, media companies are not exempt from evolution. Media/News company JomezPro, has moved onto the next chapter of their business and identity with an official announcement of the “2019 Jomez Pro Tour Schedule”.

It’s easy to see from the amount of tournaments JomezPro will be covering this year that they will flourish more in 2019 than the year before. I asked Jonathan if his split with the DGPT has increased the requests for his finely-tuned coverage and he was diplomatic by saying, “We have been overwhelmed with the show of support from the disc golf community in the past few months, and we are excited to be adding new events to our schedule!” With the jam-packed schedule they presented, it’s clear that they haven’t missed a beat during the off-season.

The real question that every disc golf fan has on their mind is whether Jeremy Koling and Nate Sexton will be back in the commentary chairs this year. Luckily, Jonathan didn’t leave fans guessing by proclaiming that, “Big Sexy will definitely be back! Nate and Jerm have been a staple in our coverage the past couple years, and we are not going to deprive the fans of what they want :)” Fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Along with a new Big Sexy stamp (Jomez Merch) coming out this year, Jonathan drops some clues about more commentators by mentioning past names such as A.J. Risely, Paul Ulibarri, Madison Walker, and Lisa Fajkus. I have a feeling these athletes will find themselves behind a microphone quite often this year. Jonathan also alluded to some other possible surprise quests. What does JomezPro have in store for the fans in 2019? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
